Senior Scientific Programmer
 

 

Job Description:
 

     
  • Serves as technical specialist for testing of weapons systems.

  • Travels to locations of systems under test.

  • Interfaces with operator, maintenance, and other test conduct personnel and participates as monitor of actual test.

  • Required to record and document events which are pertinent as prescribed by data collection procedure documents.

  • Prepares detailed logs for system, and for test Evaluator, Engineers and other test personnel.

  • Uses weapons system knowledge, observation abilities, experience, and communication skills to provide required data information in a neat, detailed accurate and complete format.

  • Test Instrumentation Set-up

  • Provide engineering support for the collection of post-flight data in the evaluation of missile/rocket payload reliability and accuracy.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to accomplish goals set forth by mission objectives, policies and training procedures.

  • Define perimeters of submunition impact patterns.

  • Staking of submunition impacts with survey flagging.

  • Staking of dud submunition with survey flagging.

  • Survey of submunition impact locations.

  • Record submunition impact survey information

  • Ability to vertically lift objects up to 25 lbs while wearing protective gear weighing approximately 18 lbs.

  • Ability to work overtime as required.

  • Direct knowledge or experience working with munitions.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.

  • Generate detail logs or notes as required by operational procedures.

  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of climatic conditions for extended periods of time.
     

 

Required Skills:
 

     
  • Associates Degree or a minimum of 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • General knowledge of weapon system test and evaluation process.
  • Knowledge of weapons system operations and maintenance procedure.
  • Demonstrate ability to observe equipment operations and maintenance and generate detailed logs or notes which accurately represent system performance within the scope of the weapon system test and prescribe data collections procedures.
  • Possess the ability to communicate orally and generate written data material.
  • Possess the ability to compete and deliver required work, with minimal supervision in a timely manner.

  Position Type:
    Full-Time/Regular and Part-Time positions are available
