Future Combat
Systems (FCS) integration/test Engineer to support development,
troubleshooting and maintenance of the Common Control Node (CCN) network at
White Sand Missile Range (WSMR) as part of the overall System of Systems
Integration Lab (SoSIL) network. Candidate is responsible for readiness of
the CCN to support FCS test events such as the Integrated Mission Tests (IMT)
and Technical Field Tests (TFT). Tasks include configuring lab networks (LAN
& WAN), installing and integrating FCS Vehicle/Platform simulation, FCS
Simulation Environment (FSE) software, executing IMT and Technical Field
Tests, generating IMT & TFT test plans, test descriptions, test procedures
and test reports. Candidate will be part of a team to determine the root
cause of network issues in the CCN network. This position requires
interaction with other LSI IPT’s, FCS One Team Partners and Army customers.
Candidate should possess good communication and interpersonal skills and
work effectively with team members.
Candidate may be
required to support extended TDY to Huntington Beach, CA to be part of the
Integrated Lab software integration team. Provide
software Verification and Validation of Future Combat Systems (FCS) command
and control, systems, and platform interfaces. Must have experience in
large scale systems integration and software testing. Must be able to work
as part of a team. Solid trouble shooting skills are a must. Will be
responsible for identification of software/hardware integration issues, and
assist in the resolution of problems.
Provide
work direction to lower-level analysts and programmers. Review workflow and
limitations to determine if requested capability or modification is possible
within existing configurations and systems. Studies information processing
capabilities to evaluate effectiveness and develop new capabilities to
improve production or workflow. Prepares workflow chart and diagrams to
specify in detail operations to be performed by computers and operations to
be performed by personnel working with computers. Plans and prepares
technical reports and instructional manuals and assists in the documentation
of applications development. Performs routine assignments that normally
require conferring with end users to analyze requirements, such as forms of
data input, how data is to be manipulated and summarized, and how reports
are to be formatted.
Will
require travel, and includes a 2-3 month training period in Huntington
beach, CA.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering. MS desired. plus
2-9 years of direct experience or equivalent combination of experience and
training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience in leading
a technical team and familiarity with Computer Generated Force (CGF)
applications and simulation, High Level Architecture (HLA) Federation Object
Model (FOM)-compliant software is desired.
Preferred candidate
should possess experience in testing, integration of software, hardware,
systems and system of systems.
Skills in network architecture design, network topology, Unix, Linux, Java,
C++, development and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN protocol, switch/router
setup and configuration, IT security solutions with TCP/IP implementation is
highly desired. Experience in Test and Evaluation of major defense
acquisition programs (preferably Army) specifically familiarity with FCS
systems is a plus.
