Future Combat
Systems (FCS) integration/test Engineer to support development,
troubleshooting and maintenance of the Common Control Node (CCN) network at
White Sand Missile Range (WSMR) as part of the overall System of Systems
Integration Lab (SoSIL) network. Embedded software test engineer to join the
Test team at WSMR on the Future Combat Systems program. Candidate will
perform software requirements verification and formal integration testing on
virtual, constructive and live simulation software. Identify, troubleshoot,
and isolate software problems on the simulation network (test line).
Participate in scenario and use case development, generate test scripts as
needed, identify data to be collected and perform analysis on simulation
data to determine system performance. Tasks also include preparing test
result out briefs, reports, end user simulation operation procedures,
evaluation of previously developed software.
Candidate must have
knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems, especially Linux. Previous
experience in developing modern simulation software using C++ and java as
well as experience in army simulation environment such as High Level
Architecture (HLA), Run Time Interface (RTI), Federation Object Model (FOM)/Simulation
Object Model (SOM) are highly desirable. This position requires interaction
with other LSI IPT’s, FCS One Team Partners and Army customers.
Candidate should possess good communication and interpersonal skills and
work effectively with team members. Candidate may be required to support
extended TDY (6 weeks -3 months) to Huntington Beach, CA to be part of the
Integrated Lab software integration team.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering. MS desired. plus
2-9 years of direct experience or equivalent combination of experience and
training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience in leading
a technical team and familiarity with Computer Generated Force Candidate
must have strong background in simulation software testing, and formal
qualification testing of software in at least a Software Engineering
Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 3 environment.
The candidate must
understand Bourne and C shell commands, be comfortable with Red Hat Linux
command line interface, and be capable of writing Bourne and C shell
scripts. Experience with Linux/Unix systems and in particular Linux
networking experience is a plus. Specifically, applicant will test HLA based
army platform simulations that were developed using federation and
simulation object models, and RTI-use specifications to determine correct
functionality and interface compliance with requirements. Demonstrated
understanding of Army force development processes and supporting analysis
are also highly desired. This position requires strong analysis and
communication skills, and experience playing key roles on multiple system
development project teams with a proven history of delivering high quality
work, on-time and within budget.
Must be able to determine, define and document the requirements of assigned
project teams; develop test and process documentation; track project status
and determine and take corrective action when required; update all involved
personnel and key contacts regularly; and provide support for production
applications.
